Brenda lives in a small town in Northwest Ohio, where she enjoys walking her dog Jackson, riding bike, and cross country snow skiing. One of her favorite Christmas traditions is making homemade cinnamon rolls – first with her Dad, and now (after her Dad’s passing) with her two 20-something nephews. She loves to serve in her church and encourage others in their faith in Jesus.
Brenda’s education includes a Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies from Bowling Green State University (BGSU), a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Toledo, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Psychology and Religion from Anderson University (Indiana).

After completing her doctoral program, Brenda discovered a love for and her gifts in grant writing, when she served as Associate Director of Research and Data for a nonprofit in Northwest Ohio. She subsequently served two years at BGSU as Research Development Officer, teaching grant writing skills to early career faculty. In 2022 she received an alumni award for Innovative Research Advancement from BGSU’s Leadership Studies program.

Most recently, Brenda has served as the Director of Project Respect, a sexual risk avoidance (abstinence) education program, for CPC/Women’s Health Resource of Northwest Ohio, where she has also served as a Board member.

Life’s busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!"
